Arlington's massive project, Texas Live!, picked up top honors as the Dallas Business Journal's "Deal of the Year." The multibillion-dollar project will consist of a new ballpark for the Texas Rangers and entertainment district once completed. The developer, Cordish Cos., alongside the Texas Rangers Baseball Club and City of Arlington hope to make Texas Live! a destination with or without a baseball game with amenities like a Loews hotel and restaurants open for lunch and dinner.

“The whole purpose of this development is to position Arlington as a world class destination for conventions and visitors," said Zed Smith, chief operating officer of the Cordish Companies.

Dave Anderson, who has spent about 35 years with CBRE, received this year's Lifetime Achievement Award.

“When I look out there today and study the fundamentals, it’s just as exciting as it was four or five years ago,” said Anderson. “Ernie Banks, who was my childhood baseball hero and was born in Dallas, used to say, ‘It’s a beautiful day — let’s play two.’ I think that in this cycle we may get to play two games. Everything seems to be going pretty well.”
